The day is finally here. The news we have all been waiting for. The gym is officially allowed to open on the 25th July 2020.
We have been hard at work getting everything ready so we can open our doors to you, whilst keeping everyone safe in doing so.
As with most things in todays world there are a lot of changes we have had to implement and certain things will become the new “NORMAL”
Please make sure you read all the details in this email before coming to the gym so you are up to speed on our new policies.
Firstly due to our outdoor exercise area the carpark capacity has been reduced. There are now only 9 available spaces. We ask that wherever possible you walk, cycle or be dropped off at the gym instead of driving.
There are no changing room or shower facilities available so please come dressed in appropriate sports wear. There are no lockers available for storing personal items. The toilets are in use but for one person at a time only. The female changing rooms have a one way system in operation so please stick to that. Our water machines are also not in use to please bring a pre-filled bottle.
Upon arrival at the gym please form a queue in the carpark abiding by the 2m social distancing guidelines. Entering reception one person at a time you will be required to firstly sanitize your hands and secondly sign your name in the track and trace record. Once you have done both of these you can enter the gym following the one way system up the stairs and into the gym areas. The doors are all labelled with entry or exit and the floors have arrow stickers which must be obeyed at all times.
During use of the gym please be vigilant and responsible for your own personal hygeine and for the hygeine of the equipment you use. There are an abundance of spray bottles and paper roll located all around the gym for you to clean any used equipment. This will include: cardio machines, resistance machines and hand held kit such as dumbbells, swiss balls and gym mats. The staff will take care of communal gym areas such as hand rails and door handles on a very regular basis.
In terms of the gym diary and personal training sessions we are starting with a slightly reduced staff level to allow us to build up gradually. If you wish to book a personal training session please speak to a member of staff during a visit to the gym.
With regards to our fitness class timetable we are starting with a reduced offering. Some of our classes will not be returning right now. Spin classes will return with a limited capacity of 6 bikes only. Because of the capacity reduction we have decided to implement a few rules to start with to try and be fair and accessbile to a wider range of our members.Spin classes will only be available to exisiting gym members and not on a pay as you go basis. Gym members will be limited to one spin class per week to start with, in the hope this can be adapted if the guidlines change. The class sign up system will remain the same as pre-lockdown. Sign up on the boards outside of the studio. All exisitng class sign up rules apply.
As with everything in the world right now, things are changing on a very regular basis. With this in mind we ask for your patience on your return to the gym. We want to abide by all of the government guidlines to make sure our members and our staff are as safe as possible. If you think something is not in order please let us know as soon as you can and we can work on a solution. We plan to adapt our policies frequently so that we stay up to date with any guidelines we receive.
We can’t wait to have you all back.
